5 A Day Mail Campaign

TECHNICIAL DIFFICULTIES

Writing to companies is a great way to get coupons, and it only takes about 10 minutes of your time each day. Companies love to hear from their consumers, especially when they love their product. Always add a personal touch to your letter.

Everyday I will add 5 companies for you to write a letter and/or e-mail to (see list below). Your note can be a question, compliment concern, or complaint about their products.

Here are my basic guidelines to follow when writing companies...
1. Make your note personal. Tell them how much you (your husband, your kids, cat, etc) love their product.
*Note-If you have a concern or complaint-always start out with a personal note about how you love their product.

2. Let them know how you felt about the product; did you like the way it was packaged, was it easy to open, was it flavorful, was it how you thought it would be, were you happy with your purchase, was it fresh, etc. If you have a complaint about the item, express it. Make sure to keep it courteous.

3. Give a specific detail of when the product was used. Don't write Horizon and tell them you like their milk; tell them you and your kids love their individual servings of milk. Give an example of how your kids want to have a "Horizon milk pack" packed in their lunchbox EVERYDAY. And add a note of how it makes you happy that they love Horizon because it is healthy and organic!

4. At the end, always thank them for making the product and thank them for their time.

Here are sample letters of compliments and complaints:
Compliments to Band-Aid Brand Adhesive Bandages:
Hello,
I wanted to take a moment to write you and tell you how much my 2-year old son loves your Spider Man Band-Aids. When he gets a "boo-boo", he always asks for a Spider-Man Band-Aid and doesn't want any other type of bandage. I now keep a box in his backpack, my truck, in the bathroom, in our park and pool bag and a box at each set of his grandparents' houses. I love the quality of your bandages and thank you for the fact that my son doesn't scream in pain when I take it off.

Thank you for your time,

Compliments to Minute Maid Pink Lemonade:
Hello,
I wanted to take a moment to tell you how much my sweet 4 year old daughter loves your pink Minute Maid Lemonade. We have a tea parties quite often and she loves serving the "princess pink lemonade" to her teddy bear, hippo, Jessie doll, and her baby dolls; Molly Kate and Abby. Thank you for producing such a tasty product that is easy for me to get ready for her tea parties. I love the convenience of your product by being able to purchase it pre-made in liter bottles. It makes tea parties easy for me to prep for.

Thank you for your time,
Stephanie Howard

Complaints to Rold Gold Pretzels:
Hello,
I received a coupon for your pretzels and thought I would give them a try. I was disappointed when I served your pretzels at my daughter's play date and realized they were stale (and still 2 weeks within date). Somehow the bag had a hole in it before we opened it to serve to our friends. I was overly embarrassed and am not sure if I feel comfortable serving you products again.

Thank you for your time,

Complaints to Banana Boat:
Hello,
I received a coupon for your sunscreen and thought I would give it a try. I had used the same brand for years, but I thought I would give Banana Boat a try. I purchased your spray sunscreen. I have to say, I was disappointed when I thought your brand sunscreen had sprayed evenly over my body (I applied two coats), and after the baseball game, I was burned. It has been 9 days and my skin is still sensitive and spotted. Needless to say, this is not a product I will use on my young children. I was embarrassed and in pain and am not sure I feel comfortable using your product again.

Thank you for your time,
Stephanie Howard
